VAT Director

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned VAT Director to lead our indirect tax function across the UAE and GCC. The role involves overseeing compliance, shaping tax strategy, and acting as the primary liaison for senior client stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, review, and timely filing of VAT returns in line with UAE regulations.
• Develop and implement VAT strategies to optimise client positions and minimise risk.
• Lead VAT audits, assessments and Federal Tax Authority (FTA) inquiries, preparing documentation and representing clients.
• Provide broader indirect tax advisory on VAT, Excise Tax and E‑Invoicing, including digital developments such as Peppol/PINT.
• Act as the main point of contact for senior client stakeholders, delivering workshops and practical tax insights.
• Support business development through proposals, client engagement and thought‑leadership initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory changes in the UAE and GCC, translating them into actionable guidance for clients and internal teams.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of UAE experience in VAT or indirect tax.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and compliance framework.
• Hands‑on experience with FTA procedures and audits.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CA.
• Preferably a registered UAE Tax Agent.
