Vendor Coordinator

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Vendor Coordinator to join its Engineering team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business in Abu Dhabi. The role starts office‑based and will transition to an on‑shore site, coordinating vendor activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all vendor site activities including delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Serve as the primary contact between vendors, construction teams, engineering, QA/QC, procurement and the client.
• Review and align vendor schedules with overall project construction and commissioning timelines.
• Monitor vendor mobilisation, manpower, tools and equipment readiness.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, site regulations and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Facilitate inspection, testing and technical discussions with QA/QC and client representatives.
• Track progress, identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare regular vendor coordination reports and support contract administration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in EPC/EPCM projects, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, power or infrastructure.
• Proven experience coordinating multiple equipment vendors during construction and commissioning.
• Familiarity with procurement, construction and commissioning processes.
