Vice President, AML Investigations & Regulatory Response

About the role

The Vice President will lead the bank's AML investigations and regulatory response functions, overseeing both on‑shore investigators and analysts across multiple business lines.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the AML Investigations and Analysis programme, leading on‑shore investigators and analysts in Centres of Excellence.
• Make decisions on cases requiring filing Suspicious Transaction Reports to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit as Deputy MLRO or delegate.
• Manage operations of the Regulatory Response Unit and ensure compliance with AML/CTF regulations.
• Provide AML advice to embedded compliance, business, technology, digital/analytics and operations functions.
• Support development of risk management frameworks for emerging businesses such as FinTechs, payment service providers and digital‑asset services.
• Develop and run the AML Intelligence Exchange capability and drive technology and advanced analytics projects to improve risk coverage.
• Lead efficiency improvement initiatives, including cost and resource optimisation without compromising risk coverage.
• Manage regulatory reviews, internal audits and respond promptly to regulator and law‑enforcement queries.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in AML investigations, regulatory response and compliance within banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of UAE AML/CTF legal and regulatory environment and international best practices.
• Proven leadership skills managing investigators and analysts across multiple business lines.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of AML investigation processes and Suspicious Transaction Reporting.
• Familiarity with regulatory response frameworks and risk management for FinTech and digital‑asset services.
