About the role

The Vice President of Governance and Control will lead financial control activities for the Business Finance division of First Abu Dhabi Bank. This senior position ensures that accounting practices, risk assessments, and audit processes align with regulatory standards and internal policies, while supporting the bank’s Personal, Business, Wealth and Privileged Client Banking segments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement financial control measures to prevent mis‑treatment and operational loss.
• Coordinate with the Group Control team to resolve reconciliation breaks.
• Lead audit discussions, review audit comments, and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Set up and maintain the division’s RCSA matrix and conduct periodic risk self‑assessments.
• Monitor discretionary authority usage and incentive booking compliance.
• Provide accounting guidelines and verify balance‑sheet and P&L treatments with Group Finance.
• Own reconciliation of internal accounts, ensure proper documentation, and sign off on monthly AOV.
• Oversee segment code changes and account transfers, enforcing policy compliance.
• Produce daily variance reports on balance‑sheet movements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial control, audit, or risk management within banking.
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards and banking regulations.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Emiratized candidate with senior‑level leadership capabilities.
