VP of People and Culture

About the role

The Vice President of People and Culture will report directly to the CEO and steer STARZPLAY’s people function through a rapid expansion phase across MENA and Europe. The role focuses on scaling talent acquisition, performance management, and people operations while ensuring compliance in every market.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a talent acquisition function that hires technical, marketing, and strategy talent at pace across MENA and Europe, planning headcount, budgets and sourcing channels.
• Own the performance management cycle, train managers, identify high‑performers, link outcomes to promotions and compensation, and run leadership development programmes.
• Advise executive leadership on organisational design, team structures and workforce planning as the business scales.
• Oversee reward and benefits, job architecture, salary bands, payroll accuracy and medical insurance management.
• Ensure compliance with UAE labour law, European employment regulations (including GDPR), and immigration requirements, managing contracts, visas and off‑boarding processes.

Required profile

• 12+ years of HR experience scaling digital organisations in MENA and Europe, with proven recruitment success for senior and specialist roles.
• Strong knowledge of UAE mainland and free‑zone labour law, European employment law and immigration processes.
• Experience leading the people function of a fast‑growing digital business, supporting revenue growth from $300 M to $1 B.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Background in media, streaming, technology or a similarly fast‑paced digital sector is strongly preferred.
