Waiter/Waitress – Chinese Restaurant Yù & Mì

About the role

Join the Restaurants, Bars & Experiences team at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai as a Waiter/ess in the Chinese restaurant Yù & Mì. You will be responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience, taking orders, serving guests, and upholding the brand’s high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Chinese menu, ingredients, preparation methods and pairing recommendations.
• Take accurate orders, communicate them clearly to kitchen and bar staff, and ensure prompt delivery.
• Address special dietary requests or allergies professionally and inform relevant teams.
• Provide attentive, personalized service and create WOW moments that delight guests.
• Upsell menu items and services to enhance revenue.
• Operate the POS system, process billing, and set up/clear tables according to restaurant standards.

Required profile

• High School qualification preferred; hospitality or business degree advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a waiter/waitress in a high‑volume restaurant or luxury hotel.
• Strong verbal and written English; Arabic a plus.
• Knowledge of dining service procedures, POS and cashiering processes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
