Waiter/Waitress for Yù & Mì Bar & Restaurant

About the role

Based at Mandarin Oriental Downtown in Dubai, the Waiter/ess will join the Yù & Mì Bar & Restaurant team, delivering an exceptional Chinese dining experience for hotel guests and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Chinese menu, including ingredients, preparation methods and pairing recommendations, and provide suggestions to guests.
• Take accurate orders, communicate them to kitchen and bar staff, and ensure timely delivery according to guest specifications.
• Address special dietary requests or allergies professionally, informing management and kitchen colleagues.
• Upsell menu items and additional services to enhance revenue.
• Operate the POS system for order processing, billing and table set‑up/clearance in line with hotel policies.

Required profile

• High school qualification preferred; a degree or higher diploma in Hospitality, Hotel or Business Management is advantageous.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a waiter/waitress, preferably in a high‑volume restaurant or luxury hotel.
• Strong verbal and written English; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating restaurant point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
