About the role

Grand Mercure Business Bay, a 270-room premium hotel in Dubai's Business Bay district, is looking for a full-time Waitress. The role delivers a refined, culturally immersive dining experience with courteous, efficient and professional food and beverage service, while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, safety and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous, professional service and anticipate guest needs promptly.
• Know menu items, especially local and regional dishes, and recommend pairings.
• Ensure order accuracy, including side dishes, sauces and special dietary requirements.
• Deliver complimentary welcome fruit baskets and beverages to guest rooms.
• Collect food and beverages from the kitchen and bar counter promptly, at the right temperature and presentation.
• Set tables, refill condiments and clear tables after guests leave.
• Prepare the setter area, pre-set trays and trolleys for the next shift and help with pre-opening and special function setups.
• Handle cash and card billing accurately and keep tableware spotless and polished.
• Maintain personal cleanliness, follow hygiene and safety policies, and keep service areas clean to prevent pests.
• Answer guest questions about allergens correctly and maintain good relations with kitchen, bar and other departments.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience as a Waitress/Waiter in a hotel or reputable restaurant (4-5 star preferred).
• High School Diploma or hospitality/F&B vocational training.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is a distinct advantage.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Professional appearance, strong sense of guest service and calm under pressure.

Required skills

• Familiarity with HACCP principles, personal hygiene standards and Dubai food safety regulations.
• Accuracy in orders, billing and table presentation.
