Warehousing and Materials Team Leader

About the role

The Warehouse Team Leader oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch are executed efficiently and safely. Acting as the bridge between the Warehouse Manager and floor staff, the role drives throughput targets, inventory accuracy and HSE compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor all warehouse activities, guaranteeing timely completion of receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Supervise and coach warehouse handlers, pickers and packers, assigning tasks and conducting shift briefings.
• Maintain accurate material movement records in the WMS and support cycle counts.
• Enforce HSE standards, DG handling procedures and proper segregation of hazardous or temperature‑sensitive items.
• Coordinate use and maintenance of forklifts, pallet jacks and other material‑handling equipment.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports linked to KPI targets such as inventory accuracy, OTD and damage rate.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics, with proven team‑supervisory experience.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
• Experience in regulated environments (defense, aerospace or similar) is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in logistics, supply‑chain or HSE standards are advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and inventory management tools.
• Forklift operation and material‑handling equipment certification.
• Knowledge of dangerous goods (DG) handling, segregation and labeling requirements.
