Welder (Support) – Offshore Oil & Gas

About the role

The Welder (Support) will work on offshore oil and gas platforms, performing welding, maintenance and inspection tasks to ensure equipment reliability. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lists of materials and tools required for offshore welding activities.
• Carry out vessel and tank overhauling, including pipe spook welding of carbon steel, stainless steel and Inconel.
• Assist in routine inspections, report leakages and perform maintenance as instructed.
• Execute site field welds on existing facilities while applying appropriate safety measures.
• Complete maintenance tasks on schedule according to the maintenance plan.
• Support fabrication and welding inspection activities and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, implement corrective actions and minimise downtime.
• Conduct welder qualification tests and develop welding procedures for specified materials.
• Follow operational procedures to ensure controlled and consistent work execution.
• Participate in toolbox meetings to discuss priorities and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years technical course or 9 years schooling with welder qualification certificates per ASME Section IX.
• 3–5 years practical experience in CS/SS/Inconel pipe spook welding, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
• Fair knowledge of written and spoken English.
