Welding Technician

About the role

The Welding Technician will perform fabrication, structural repairs and modifications of lifting equipment and high‑voltage electrical joint boxes, ensuring all work complies with DP World standards and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate spare parts, underground high‑voltage electrical joint boxes and workshop tools using technical drawings.
• Carry out structural repairs and modifications on container cranes, mobile cranes and RTGs to meet operational requirements.
• Select appropriate welding methods and pre‑heating procedures for each job and ensure compliance with DP World standards.
• Verify that safe working platforms are in place before commencing work on equipment such as cranes.
• Complete assigned tasks on schedule to avoid operational delays.
• Stay updated on new welding techniques and equipment to improve existing processes.
• Provide guidance to Associate Technicians to maintain quality across the organization.
