Wet Utilities Design Engineer – Abu Dhabi

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary consultancy team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on planning and detailed design of potable water, fire‑fighting, irrigation, foul sewer and stormwater networks for infrastructure and land‑development projects across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Design wet utility systems including water distribution, irrigation, fire‑fighting, sewerage and stormwater networks, manholes, chambers, pumping stations and storage facilities.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts and schematics using CAD/BIM tools.
• Develop hydraulic models to analyse flow, pressure and system performance.
• Perform pipe‑sizing, flow‑rate and pressure loss calculations and produce technical reports, design specifications and BOQs.
• Ensure designs comply with Abu Dhabi authority standards and local codes.
• Collaborate with architects, urban planners and other engineering disciplines to integrate utilities into broader projects.
• Provide technical support during construction, review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
• Follow company QA/QC procedures and assist senior engineers with design scope definition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum four years of experience in an engineering consultancy, preferably on UAE/GCC wet‑utility projects.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi authority requirements is highly preferred.
• Professional membership or progress towards membership with institutions such as ICE, CIWEM or ASCE is an advantage.

• Hydraulic modelling software: WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, EPANET.
• CAD/BIM tools: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrawizard.
• Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
