WHS Manager – Workplace Health & Safety

About the role

The WHS Manager will partner with site operations teams to implement Amazon Thunder’s Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies, ensuring compliance with local and regional regulations. Using lean principles and Kaizen, you will drive continuous improvement to reduce ergonomic and conditional risks, creating a safe environment for all associates.

Key responsibilities

• Execute WHS policies and monitor compliance across the site.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives using lean and Kaizen methodologies.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and WHS data analysis.
• Train and coach Operations Leaders and WHS team members on Amazon WHS standards.
• Identify best practices and integrate them into site‑wide WHS procedures.
• Collaborate with site points of contact and provide hands‑on field training.
• Develop and implement leadership development plans for WHS associates.
• Communicate expectations, provide feedback, and ensure team adherence to core WHS competencies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive responsibility in EHS, WHS, or workplace safety programs within manufacturing, production, or service environments.
• Proven experience applying lean principles and process‑improvement techniques.
• Experience leading multiple direct reports or managing several sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental studies, ergonomics, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and other regional WHS regulatory requirements.
