WHS Safety Coordinator - Vendor Accommodation Audit Program (UAE)

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Safety Coordinator to support its vendor accommodation audit program in the UAE. The role applies Amazon's accommodation compliance standards, leads site-level assessments and helps vendors and internal stakeholders meet compliance expectations and regulations. It reports to the WHS Manager, Amazon Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct planned and ad-hoc accommodation audits across UAE vendor sites against Amazon's Global Accommodation Compliance Guidance and applicable UAE regulations, including Ministerial Decision 591/2016 and Cabinet Resolution No. 13 of 2009
• Document audit findings in Amazon's internal systems and raise escalation tickets for critical, alert and major findings
• Develop Corrective Action Plans with vendors, track remediation progress and review compliance evidence
• Escalate non-responsive vendors to senior stakeholders and support ad-hoc audits triggered by safety incidents, new buildings, worker complaints or regulatory requests
• Monitor and analyze compliance metrics, create reports and identify trends

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering or a related field
• Minimum two years of experience in workplace health and safety, compliance auditing or a related field
• Comfortable with frequent field travel across UAE vendor sites and a valid UAE driving license or willingness to obtain one
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage
• Experience in data analysis and metrics reporting

Preferred qualifications

• Experience conducting social compliance, accommodation or third-party vendor audits
• Experience developing Corrective Action Plans and managing vendor remediation
• Familiarity with UAE labor regulations and accommodation standards
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent WHS certification
• Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
