Workshop Supervisor

About the role

A leading marine and shipyard company is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to manage daily workshop operations in Musaffah ICAD 2, Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing maintenance, repair, fabrication and installation activities while ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate workshop maintenance, repair, fabrication and installation tasks.
• Lead technicians, mechanics, fabricators and subcontractors, monitoring performance and progress.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications and project timelines.
• Coordinate with engineering, HSE, QA/QC and other departments to maintain smooth operations.
• Monitor manpower, materials, tools, machinery and equipment requirements.
• Conduct workshop inspections and enforce safety and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Prepare daily progress reports and communicate updates to management.
• Maintain proper housekeeping, equipment upkeep and compliance with marine and shipyard procedures.
• Guarantee all activities meet HSE requirements and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Workshop Supervisor in marine, shipyard, offshore or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of workshop operations, mechanical maintenance, repair, fabrication and installation.
• Ability to supervise teams and manage multiple workshop activities efficiently.
• Good communication, leadership, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of HSE and QA/QC requirements.
• UAE experience is preferred.
