Workshop Technician II - Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

A Workshop Technician II is needed at an airbase in Abu Dhabi to perform moderately complex aircraft maintenance and repair in line with technical orders, standards, regulations and job guides, including O, I and D level work where applicable. The role also covers aircraft launch and recovery support, equipment testing and mentoring of junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Follow daily operations of your own job to ensure continuity of work.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, service and maintain large and complex aircraft systems, components and aerospace equipment; carry out multifaceted inspections and interpret findings to judge corrective actions.
• Identify and repair major aircraft corrosion and conduct functional tests of repaired components and systems.
• Review maintenance data collection reports to identify trends and production effectiveness.
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to junior and senior technicians.
• Act as technical expert and advisor on maintenance problems, escalating unresolved issues, and operate and maintain arresting gear, launch and recovery equipment, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Maintain logs of launches, recoveries and equipment maintenance, and inspect aircraft before launch and after recovery, signing off on flyable condition.
• Prepare deficiency reports, maintenance analysis documents, technical data changes and equipment records, and comply with safety, quality and environmental policies.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or skill level 7 or 9 certified in the trade, QC or Train the Trainer.
• Military aircraft experience letter or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in maintenance operations at an airbase.
• Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes and basic maintenance procedures.
• Understanding of aircraft structure, components, troubleshooting, wiring systems and functions.
