Account Manager

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring an Account Manager in Abu Dhabi. The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week spent in an HPE office. It covers managing one or more larger accounts or acting as account lead for a major account, driving profitability and pipeline while building strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the customer's IT and business objectives and implement HPE's strategy to drive profitable account performance
• Build and close deals, coordinate the deal team and maintain a strong, rightsized pipeline
• Engage key decision-makers and the extended partner ecosystem, and mentor the extended account team
• Present technology choices and leverage HPE programs and tools to grow the account
• Develop a view of the partner landscape and work with the Partner Business Manager on partner strategy
• Keep up with IT trends and engage with the customer's CTO/CIO

Required profile

• Typically 8-12+ years of account management experience
• University or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience; engineering or technology education, advanced degree or MBA desired
• Experience in the IT industry; experience as an IT leader or in vertical industries preferred
• Strong track record of account management and sales performance

• Knowledge of HPE products, solutions and service offerings
• Ability to lead teams in a complex matrix organization and build strong networks
• Strategic planning, sales execution, negotiation and business acumen
• Preferred: big data, hybrid IT, IT services, digital business, information security, AI and intelligent edge
