Accountant - Dubai

About the role

A full-time, on-site Accountant position in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Accountant manages day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, preparing journal entries and keeping general ledger accounts accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting, and generate financial reports for management.
• Reconcile bank and account balances and monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
• Verify compliance with internal policies and accounting standards, and assist with audits.
• Support tax and regulatory filings and collaborate with other teams to give financial insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA or CMA are an advantage.
• Familiarity with UAE financial regulations, tax requirements and international standards such as IFRS.
• Attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Integrity, discretion with sensitive information and effective written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Accounting principles, general ledger management and financial statement preparation.
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
