Accountant - IFRS & UAE VAT

About the role

ADAM Global has helped businesses set up, grow and expand internationally for over 24 years, supporting clients in business setup, taxation, audit and accounting, legal advisory, compliance, HR, intellectual property and international expansion. It is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai and support clients across various industries with accounting, reporting and compliance needs. The role is full-time and on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledgers, and prepare journal entries, reconciliations and financial schedules
• Manage accounts payable and receivable and ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and assist in preparing financial statements under IFRS
• Support management reporting and financial analysis, and coordinate with auditors during audit engagements
• Support UAE VAT compliance, including VAT return preparation, and maintain accounting controls and processes
• Liaise with clients on their accounting requirements and documentation, and support multiple client engagements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience
• Fluency in Chinese Mandarin and English is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles, and a good understanding of UAE VAT regulations

Required skills

• Experience using accounting software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Analytical and numerical abilities, attention to detail and ability to manage several assignments
