Accountant

About the role

Careers International is hiring a full-time Accountant in Dubai for a civil construction company. The role covers day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting and support of senior accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the books of accounts by processing invoices, payments and purchases
• Prepare weekly and monthly MIS and summarise financial records and statements for external reporting
• Deal with internal and external auditors
• Post and process journal entries so all transactions are recorded
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices, update accounts payable and reconcile them
• Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements in line with legal and company guidelines
• Review expenses and update financial data in databases
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports, assist with month-end and year-end closings, and help with other accounting projects
• Update and maintain the accounts department's ERP system

Required profile

• 2-4 years of experience in the UAE
• Experience in VAT filing
• Currently in the UAE and able to join immediately
• Relevant education background
