Accountant (Trading Distribution)

About the role

Food Specialities Limited is seeking an Accountant to support its trading distribution business across the Middle East and Africa. The role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly MIS reports and maintain bookkeeping records.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets and create management presentations.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Perform bank, staff and other account reconciliations.
• Ensure VAT compliance and timely filing of returns.
• Manage accounts receivable, send statements of account, follow up collections and keep accurate transaction records.
• Coordinate with banks and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for interim and annual audits.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures and delegation of authority.
• Review ledgers regularly and report discrepancies to management.

Required profile

• B.Com / M.Com or CA Inter qualification.
• Strong accounting knowledge with good problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, analytical and able to multitask effectively.
• Good understanding of VAT regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all business levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Orion.
