Accountant – Trading Distribution

About the role

Food Specialities Limited (FSL) is seeking a diligent Accountant to support its trading distribution business across the Middle East and Africa. The role focuses on accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly MIS reports and maintain up‑to‑date bookkeeping records.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets and create management presentations.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and perform bank, staff and other account reconciliations.
• Ensure VAT compliance, timely filing of returns and maintain accurate VAT records.
• Manage accounts receivable, issue statements of account, follow up collections and keep transaction records.
• Coordinate with banks and internal stakeholders for cash management.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for interim and annual audits.
• Review ledgers regularly, report discrepancies and uphold internal policies and delegation of authority.

Required profile

• B.Com / M.Com or CA Inter qualification.
• Strong accounting knowledge with solid problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, analytical and capable of multitasking.
• Good understanding of VAT regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all business levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems; Orion preferred.
