Accounting Manager

About the role

Al Sweer Trading FZE, a leading HVAC/R distributor in the UAE, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to own the full accounting cycle. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and reliable data for strategic decisions in a fast‑moving trading environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations: sales, purchases, payments, receipts, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and support month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Maintain the general ledger, trial balance, balance sheet and profit & loss reports.
• Produce management, cash‑flow, customer aging, supplier aging and profitability analyses.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier/customer reconciliations.
• Monitor customer credit, overdue balances, collections and payment follow‑ups.
• Work directly in Odoo ERP for accounting, sales, purchases, inventory and reporting, ensuring correct posting across modules.
• Control stock valuation, landed cost, cost of goods sold, inventory movements and stock adjustments.
• Support physical stock counts and reconcile system stock with actual inventory.
• Prepare and review UAE VAT returns and maintain proper VAT documentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and relevant authorities.
• Improve internal controls, approval workflows and documentation, identifying errors and accounting risks.

Required profile

• Strong experience in full‑cycle accounting within a trading or distribution environment.
• Hands‑on expertise with Odoo ERP and inventory accounting.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Excellent analytical skills to support financial analysis and decision‑making.
