Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper

About the role

A company in Dubai is looking for an Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day transactional accounting and keep financial ledgers clean. The role is on-site and suits someone with 1-2 years of experience; the package is listed as 4,000-5,000.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounts payable and accounts receivable, process vendor invoices, track customer receipts and run bank reconciliations in cloud accounting software.
• Prepare and validate the monthly Salary Information File (SIF) for payroll under the Wages Protection System (WPS).
• Categorize and track corporate expenses and help code them according to company policy and UAE Corporate Tax requirements.
• Support external auditors by assembling trial balances, asset registries and document samplings.
• Manage on-site petty cash, track employee expense claims and archive financial documents for DMCC compliance.
• Assist with monthly management accounts, debtor ageing reports, creditor reconciliations and cash flow reporting.

Required profile

• Diploma in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• 1-2 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in the UAE.
• Excellent spoken, written and reading English.
• Basic knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, WPS file structures and free zone administration.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to keep data confidential.
• Experience with high-volume supplier invoices and customer reconciliations, and in fuel, logistics, transport, commodities or trading, is an advantage.
