Actuarial Analyst - Life & Reinsurance Pricing

About the role

Munich Re is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join its Life & Structured Reinsurance Pricing team in Dubai. You will work on a broad range of life and structured reinsurance solutions across the Middle East and Africa, contributing to pricing, portfolio analysis and business insights while supporting initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation and digital transformation across the actuarial function.

Key responsibilities

• Support the pricing of individual life, group life and structured reinsurance opportunities across the Middle East and Africa.
• Analyse data and provide actuarial insights to support underwriting and pricing decisions.
• Develop and maintain pricing tools, actuarial models and portfolio monitoring solutions.
• Conduct experience studies, portfolio reviews and performance analyses.
• Support the development of automated solutions and AI-enabled tools to improve actuarial processes and decision-making.
• Collaborate with underwriting, client management and regional actuarial teams on business opportunities and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare technical analyses, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to projects focused on innovation, digitalisation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related quantitative discipline.
• Progress towards a recognised actuarial qualification (SOA, IFoA or equivalent).
• Relevant experience in insurance, reinsurance, actuarial consulting or a quantitative analytical role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated and able to work independently and in a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; interest in Python, R or SQL.
• Knowledge of data analytics, automation tools and AI technologies is an advantage.
