Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

About the role

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician provides pre‑hospital emergency care, responding to medical calls, stabilising patients, and transporting them safely to the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls, drive to the scene and deliver basic life support.
• Conduct patient assessments, 3‑lead ECG, administer AED, CPR, spinal motion restriction and ventilation.
• Control severe bleeding, prevent shock, bandage wounds and provide medication such as activated charcoal, oral glucose, oxygen, aspirin and epinephrine.
• Maintain ambulance, medical and communication equipment, restock supplies and ensure proper disinfection.
• Document patient care, complete pre‑hospital reports and communicate information to receiving facilities.

Required profile

• Valid DOH EMT license in Abu Dhabi and graduate of an internationally recognised EMT‑Basic course.
• Minimum two years of EMT experience.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable.
• Current driving licence preferred but not mandatory.

• Bag valve mask and positive pressure ventilation
• Upper airway suctioning
• Medication administration (IM, IN, IV, nebuliser)
• IV cannulation and crystalloid infusion
• Cardiac monitoring (3‑lead)
• Body substance isolation and basic medical‑legal knowledge
