Advanced Reactor Technologies Expert

About the role

The Advanced Reactor Technologies Expert provides strategic and technical advisory support to the Vice President of Nuclear R&D and the ENEC ADVANCE program, driving research, development and deployment of Small and Advanced Modular Reactors (SAMR) across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the VP on SAMR deployment, investment opportunities and alignment with national energy priorities.
• Assess and integrate advanced nuclear technologies to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
• Lead feasibility studies covering techno‑commercial, siting, regulatory and O&M aspects for SAMR projects.
• Shape the ADVANCE Program Roadmap to match ENEC’s strategic vision and market dynamics.
• Conduct market research on emerging nuclear technologies and provide insights for strategic decisions.
• Prioritise R&D projects based on business needs, regulatory trends and market opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Advanced Reactor (AR) technologies.
• Proven track record in technical assessments, feasibility studies and regulatory licensing.
• Strong industrial network and experience working in national labs or applied research centres.
