Aftersales Engineer - EV Vehicles

About the role

BYD is hiring an Aftersales Engineer for its CV MEA Aftersales team, reporting to the Aftersales Director. The engineer is the single point of contact between the OEM and the regional distributor network for all after-sales matters, bridging technical, commercial and operational queries between distributors and internal OEM functions (Engineering, Quality, Parts, Warranty, Training, IT). Preference is given to Chinese speakers located in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Technical support: first point of contact for distributor queries on vehicle systems, diagnostics and repair procedures, coordinating with HQ engineering teams and escalating recurring issues.
• Warranty support: handle warranty claim queries, eligibility, documentation, coding and escalations, monitor turnaround times and support TSBs, recalls and field campaigns.
• Service operations: help distributors implement OEM service standards and KPIs, assist with capacity planning and audits, track fix-first-time, repair turnaround and customer complaints.
• Documentation: coordinate distribution, updates and translation of workshop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams and diagnostic software, and liaise with HQ documentation and IT teams.
• Spare parts: act as interface with Parts/Supply Chain on availability, backorders, lead times, part numbers and pricing, and track parts complaints.
• Business development: identify aftersales revenue opportunities such as service packages, maintenance contracts and extended warranties, analyse performance data and contribute to regional strategy.
• Cross-functional coordination: maintain ticketing and regular communication with distributors, prepare periodic reports and take part in distributor training.
