AI Adoption and Transformation Lead

About the role

This senior, hands‑on position leads the adoption and transformation of generative AI within a regulated payments environment. You will ship large‑language‑model (LLM) systems to production, ensuring reliability, compliance and financial safety. The role combines deep technical expertise with governance and cost‑optimization responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and ship production‑grade LLM applications, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows and copilots that integrate with the payments platform.
• Own the evaluation loop by creating offline and online harnesses, golden datasets and regression suites to measure every prompt, model and retrieval change before release.
• Engineer reliability through guardrails, output validation, prompt‑injection defenses, structured fallbacks and full observability.
• Optimize cost and latency by managing context engineering, caching, model routing across providers and streaming inference to meet strict performance and unit‑economics targets.
• Partner with security, risk and compliance teams on data handling, PII redaction, residency and auditability requirements.
• Set technical direction by leading architecture reviews, mentoring engineers and raising the bar for GenAI development.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years shipping LLM/GenAI systems to production.
• Evaluation‑first mindset: measurement built into every LLM component.
• Solid grounding in machine‑learning fundamentals, especially transformer architectures, tokenisation and context windows.
• Experience delivering reliable cloud services on AWS or GCP using containers, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Background in regulated domains such as fintech or payments is a strong plus.
