AI Engineering Intern

About the role

Join Sharq’s early‑stage AI team in Dubai as an AI Engineering Intern. You will work on real production systems that power sovereign AI solutions for banks, telecoms, insurers and public‑sector organisations across the GCC and MENA.

Key responsibilities

• Build and test data pipelines for processing, fine‑tuning and evaluating large language models, focusing on Arabic and regional use cases.
• Contribute to internal tools, APIs and demos used with enterprise clients.
• Research and benchmark open‑source models and frameworks, sharing findings with the team.
• Write clean, documented code and learn production‑engineering practices from the founders.
• Participate in customer and product discussions to see AI deployment in regulated industries.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong Python skills and solid programming fundamentals.
• Familiarity with machine learning or LLMs through coursework, projects, hackathons or open‑source contributions.
• Curiosity, initiative and quick learning in a fast‑moving environment.
• Clear communication and willingness to ask questions.
