Airport Operations Officer

About the role

Etihad Airways, the UAE's national airline, runs a three-to-four-year Airport Operations Programme for UAE Nationals. It is a hands-on training programme covering airport and network operations, aircraft dispatch and safety and security, leading to a career in airport ground operations. The role covers guest acceptance and handling across check-in, boarding and arrivals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver guest acceptance and handling across all airport touchpoints (check-in, boarding, arrivals), ensuring customer service and compliance with safety, security, brand standards, policies and procedures.
• Meet agreed KPIs, ancillary revenue goals and customer service targets.
• Coordinate on-shift operations with airline teams, handling partners, service providers and local authorities, with clear briefings and real-time updates.
• Manage flight editing and special guest requirements, including VIP/MAAS, PRM and other special-category guests.
• Liaise with Guest Control, Business Solutions, Network Control and SOC to manage operational disruptions and support emergency response.

Required profile

• UAE National aged 19+ with a valid family book.
• Minimum High School Diploma accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience in a customer service position preferred.
• Able to work on shift-based schedules and wear the Etihad uniform.
• Completed or permanently exempted from UAE National Service (males only).
