Buyer - Operational Purchasing (Aviation MRO)

About the role

The Buyer - Gate 2 is a key contributor in the Aviation & Aero Engine MRO division, managing end-to-end procurement to support operational and business objectives. Reporting to the Manager - Gate 2, the role sources high-value materials and services while complying with company policies and aviation regulations, and helps drive cost savings and better supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Align procurement plans with business needs and validate quality requirements against technical documentation.
• Research the market for cost-saving opportunities and support RFPs for indirect materials and services below AED 500K.
• Process and validate purchase requisitions, generate purchase orders and monitor approvals.
• Track orders from placement to delivery, coordinate with logistics and support customs compliance for international shipments.
• Keep operations, finance and requesters informed, report supplier performance and escalate issues with proposed solutions.
• Assist in supplier negotiations, monitor supplier performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Inspect received stock for quality and quantity, coordinate corrective actions and work with quality assurance.
• Support vendor research, onboarding and compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement and procurement policy development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field, ideally with CIPS or CPSM certification.
• 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in operational purchasing or procurement in aviation, aerospace or MRO.
• Clear communication, attention to detail, compliance awareness and proactive problem solving.

Required skills

• Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier negotiations.
• ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP are highly desirable.
