AP Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to manage end‑to‑end AP operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, VAT compliance and month‑end closing. The role is focused on UAE‑specific processes within a facilities management or service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices against purchase orders, work orders and receipts, ensuring VAT compliance, proper approvals and correct GL coding.
• Prepare weekly vendor payment proposals, validate bank details and execute bank transfers, host‑to‑host batches and individual payments.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations, AP sub‑ledger to GL reconciliations and month‑end accruals, pre‑payments and reversals.
• Ensure UAE VAT compliance, prepare input VAT reports and support audit documentation.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities using ERP workflows, Power Query, Power Automate or OCR tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 3‑5 years of AP experience in the UAE, preferably in facilities management, construction or large service organisations.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and AP financial controls.
• Proven ability to handle high‑volume invoices and payments with high numerical accuracy.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliation functions).
• Knowledge of Power Query, Power Automate or other AP automation tools.
• Familiarity with OCR‑based invoice processing.
