Arabic Teacher - Secondary A&B

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting an Arabic teacher for Secondary A and B at Yasmina British Academy in Dubai, with an immediate start. The school is part of Aldar Education's network of schools across Abu Dhabi, serving thousands of students and offering a range of curricula.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements, covering the whole ability range in the class
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and curriculum support staff, and work with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when needed
• Assess and observe pupils, mark work according to the school marking policy, and use assessment data to inform planning and intervention
• Provide constructive feedback to pupils and report progress to parents at parent-teacher conferences
• Manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and act as a positive role model
• Take part in curriculum action groups, school events and activities, and run a weekly ECA each term
• Communicate with parents and carers using school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Arabic or a related subject, with PGCE or another teacher qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Experience teaching students for whom Arabic is not their first language
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check; offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance
• Enthusiasm for teaching, professionalism and respect for all members of the school community

Required skills

• Clear understanding of the curriculum and ability to plan sessions for mixed abilities
• Use of learning technologies and experience of hybrid, distance and face-to-face teaching
• Ability to set targets, monitor progress and give clear feedback
