Assistant Bar Manager

About the role

Rixos Bab Al Bahr, a five-star luxury beachfront resort on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, is hiring an Assistant Bar Manager. The role covers the day-to-day running of the bar outlet, including staffing, service quality, cash handling and guest relations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare weekly rosters for all bars and create a productive, fair working atmosphere.
• Fill requisition forms for food and beverage items and materials from the storeroom.
• Check service set-up at least half an hour before service starts and follow up daily occupancy.
• Train staff on behaviour, suggestive selling, service skills and product knowledge.
• Keep equipment clean and polished, and ensure the bars are clean, tidy, hazard-free and safe.
• Check beverage items for temperature, presentation and quantity.
• Handle guest complaints, special requests and table allocation, and act as a sales leader to increase revenue.
• Supervise billing and cash flow, including closing checks, discounts, voids and hospitality guarantees.
• Ensure the budgeted profit is achieved and implement new service procedures with the Director of Food & Beverage.
• Attend F&B meetings and handle administration for the outlet.
