Assistant Buyer - Kids Furniture

About the role

Careers International is hiring a full-time Assistant Buyer for kids' furniture in Dubai. The role covers product research and sourcing, supplier management, quality compliance, inventory and pricing, and support for new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Research the latest trends in kids' furniture, focusing on safety, durability and design, and build a vendor base for high-quality, child-friendly products.
• Ensure products comply with local and international safety standards, and regularly audit suppliers for quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with international and local suppliers, negotiate contracts, pricing and payment terms, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage the ordering process, monitor inventory levels and work with the finance team on pricing and margins.
• Monitor the market and competitors, and adjust the product range to changing customer demands.
• Assist in developing marketing strategies, promotional campaigns and product displays for new launches.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management or a similar field.
• 4-6 years of experience in retail buying, category management or sourcing in the furniture industry; prior experience in kids' furniture or similar categories is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of kids' furniture design, functionality and safety standards.
• Experience in vendor negotiation and relationship management.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
