Assistant Commercial Manager

About the role

U+A, part of the Egis Group, is seeking an experienced Assistant Commercial Manager to support the delivery of major capital projects across the Middle East. The role will work closely with key clients and the project management team, providing commercial expertise from project inception through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of commercial activities from early project stages, including cost forecasting and budgeting.
• Prepare detailed cost forecasts, budget reports and analyse variances to support financial decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to estimate project costs, including sub‑consultancy services and overheads.
• Draft and negotiate internal and external sub‑consultancy agreements, coordinating with legal and commercial teams.
• Conduct due‑diligence checks on sub‑consultants and verify insurance coverage.
• Initiate and prepare change request forms and variation orders in line with client change‑management procedures.
• Support quality assurance and quality control reviews of deliverables.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial management within the construction or engineering sector.
• Strong pre‑contract background with ability to develop business cases and manage contracts.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders.
