Assistant Cost Controller

About the role

The Assistant Cost Controller oversees and manages cost control activities across all Capital Motion venues, ensuring accurate tracking of food, beverage and operational costs. The role supports profitability analysis and enforces cost control procedures in line with company standards, working closely with finance, procurement and operations teams to monitor consumption, reduce waste and optimise margins.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyse food, beverage and operational costs across venues, review daily consumption reports, identify budget variances and conduct regular cost audits.
• Oversee inventory management, including stock counts, reconciliations and variance reporting, and record transfers, wastage and spoilage accurately.
• Review and validate recipe costing with culinary teams, support menu engineering and keep costing data up to date in POS and inventory systems.
• Maintain cost control systems and databases, ensure integration between POS, inventory and accounting platforms, and look for automation opportunities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports, support financial audits and ensure compliance with cost control policies.
• Work with venue managers, chefs and procurement officers, train operational teams on cost control and take part in cross-functional meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Hospitality Management.
• 4-6 years of experience in cost control, preferably in hospitality or F&B.
• Ability to work across multiple venues and manage competing priorities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of inventory systems, recipe costing and POS integration.
• Proficiency in Excel and cost control software such as FMC, Adaco and Supy (Supy experience is an advantage).
• Analytical, organisational and communication skills.
