About the role
The Assistant Manager – Brand is responsible for overall brand development and implementation to maximise sales and profit, and to create a strong brand image in the market. This role works closely with the Brand General Manager, Marketing team and retail operations to drive brand growth across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Maximise sales and profitability of brand stores in line with company targets.
- Develop the brand launch strategy in consultation with the Brand General Manager.
- Control costs within budgetary guidelines for brand stores.
- Deploy resources effectively to ensure complete sell‑through according to product, style and assortment plans.
- Review feedback from territories on brand acceptance and customer expectations.
- Ensure adherence to the financial plan for sales, markdowns, margin and average inventory.
- Create brand positioning together with Marketing and the Brand Principal/General Manager.
- Participate in recruitment and training of team members.
- Study merchandise requirements and set sourcing triggers based on sales data and forecasts.
- Design the merchandise plan (pricing, promotion, assortment) to ensure timely stock availability.
- Determine buying requirements, formulate buying plan and budget.
- Conduct product selection in coordination with buying requirements and research.
- Manage in‑season performance across territories (stock balancing, markdown management, analysis).
- Build brand awareness for “Club Apparel”.
- Coordinate with Retail Operations to gather feedback on retail and brand operations.
- Develop visual merchandising strategy for stores and ensure implementation.
- Acquire market intelligence and analyse trends impacting the business.
- Research brand acceptance in new territories and identify customization needs.
- Map competition prices and products and provide qualitative inputs.
- Identify new site opportunities for brand outlets and discuss with Operations and General Manager.
- Evaluate selected sites on trade area, customer base and merchandising considerations and obtain approvals.
- Coordinate new store openings and refits with operations and projects teams.
- Ensure brand outlet locations align with brand strategy and positioning.
- Monitor adherence to the store opening plan.
