Assistant Manager – Japanese Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Japanese restaurant at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. The role involves ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and guest satisfaction while leading a dedicated team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing day‑to‑day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Monitor service quality, food presentation, and hygiene to uphold Japanese dining standards.
• Supervise, motivate and train staff, conduct briefings and manage shift schedules.
• Handle guest concerns, resolve complaints promptly and implement service improvements.
• Maintain inventory, conduct stock counts, and support cost‑control initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred).
• 2–3 years of supervisory or assistant management experience in a restaurant, preferably Japanese or Asian cuisine.
• Strong leadership, communication and customer‑service skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
