Assistant Manager – Logistics (Building Material)

About the role

Black & Grey HR is seeking an Assistant Manager – Logistics to join a leading Pre‑Engineered Building (PEB) and steel building manufacturer in Sharjah, UAE. The role oversees export logistics, customs clearance, shipping documentation, freight coordination and Letter of Credit (LC) handling to ensure timely delivery of PEB materials worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end export shipments by land, sea and air, aligning with sales and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, customs authorities and the Chamber of Commerce.
• Prepare and process export documents such as Certificate of Origin, B/L, TCN, AWB and other required paperwork.
• Independently verify LC documentation to ensure compliance and avoid discrepancies.
• Track shipments, resolve customs and border issues, and provide timely updates to sales and internal teams.
• Handle freight quotations, LPOs, customs deposit refunds and maintain accurate export records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, export, customs clearance and shipping coordination.
• Preferable experience in PEB, structural steel, steel fabrication or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of UAE customs procedures and international shipping documentation.
• Proven ability to manage LC documentation independently.
• Excellent negotiation, coordination, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Hands‑on experience with Letter of Credit (LC) documentation.
