Assistant or Associate Professor – Computer Science (Full‑time)

About the role

The College of Engineering and Technology at the American University in the Emirates invites applications for a full‑time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in Computer Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for undergraduate teaching, supervising student projects, conducting research, and contributing to the development and delivery of academic programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science and related disciplines, focusing on information systems, databases, data analytics, IT strategy, enterprise technologies and business intelligence.
• Supervise capstone and graduation projects, provide academic advising and support students during internships.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish in peer‑reviewed international venues, and pursue external research funding.
• Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation activities and other academic service duties.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three years of post‑doctoral university‑level teaching experience with a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly publications in reputable international journals and conferences.
• Ability to contribute to accreditation, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
