Assistant Pastry Chef

About the role

The Assistant Pastry Chef supports the pastry team in delivering high‑quality baked goods and desserts for all hotel outlets. This role combines creativity with strict adherence to sanitation and food safety standards to enhance guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and decorate pastries, desserts, and baked items according to recipes and specifications.
• Assist in managing day‑to‑day kitchen operations, covering for absent staff when needed.
• Coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen workers, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Develop new pastry concepts and contribute to menu development with the Executive Chef.
• Maintain proper food handling, temperature control, and storage standards.
• Operate and maintain pastry equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Monitor product quality, presentation, and flavor consistency.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest feedback and complaints.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of culinary or food‑service experience, OR a 2‑year culinary degree with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of pastry techniques and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in pastry preparation, baking, and decorative techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
