Assistant Principal (Pastoral) – Primary School

About the role

The school is seeking an Assistant Principal (Pastoral) to support the leadership team in delivering a safe, high‑quality learning environment for primary students in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and quality‑assure staff and student activities, ensuring a safe, orderly environment.
• Support and administer the annual school assessment and monitoring schedule in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Supervise and evaluate teachers, supervisors and curriculum support staff as assigned.
• Lead recruitment processes for teaching and non‑teaching positions.
• Implement student achievement improvement initiatives, including MAP/Exact Path plans, standardized testing, remediation and data reporting.
• Oversee assessment processes, data collection, student records and archiving.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on instructional methods, materials and programs.
• Coordinate staff professional development plans to enhance teaching quality.
• Prepare and submit required reports, forms and data requests on time.
• Work with administrators and staff to promote team collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or B.Sc with PGCE; Master’s degree desirable.
• Minimum six years of experience in education, with at least four consecutive years of teaching performance exceeding standards.
• Minimum two years in a middle‑leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading school initiatives that improve standards.
• Strong understanding of ADEK regulations and school development planning.
