Assistant Professor – Software Engineering

About the role

Abu Dhabi University’s Department of Computer Science and Information Technology is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor in Software Engineering to join the Abu Dhabi main campus for the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and student mentorship in a dynamic academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in software engineering topics such as Object‑Oriented Design Patterns, Formal Methods, Software Design and Architecture, and Software Requirements Engineering.
• Develop new curricula and instructional materials aligned with industry standards.
• Supervise student projects, theses and research activities.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed venues and secure research funding.
• Participate in departmental committees, accreditation processes and community outreach.

Required profile

• PhD in Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated university‑level teaching experience.
• Active research agenda with a record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Strong academic and professional expertise in software engineering.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
