Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil / Marine

About the role

Parsons is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil / Marine to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the Resident Engineer in the day-to-day construction supervision and coordination of civil and marine works, including dredging, reclamation and marine edges.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate civil and marine construction activities, including dredging, reclamation and marine edges.
• Monitor contractor activities for compliance with drawings, specifications, quality and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate engineers and inspectors carrying out site inspections and testing.
• Review method statements, technical submissions, materials, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Resolve day-to-day construction issues and coordinate interfaces between civil, marine and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress, identify constraints and report key issues to the Resident Engineer.
• Support quality, progress, site records, snagging and handover activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant construction supervision experience, including civil and/or marine works.
• Experience with dredging, reclamation, marine edges and associated civil/infrastructure works.
• Desired: experience as an Assistant Resident Engineer or in a similar construction supervision role, on major marine, waterfront, civil or infrastructure projects, and in the UAE/Middle East.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of construction supervision, inspection, quality and HSE requirements.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and construction methodologies.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Desired: experience coordinating multidisciplinary site teams and contractor activities.
