About the role
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, helping to maintain high standards of service, sanitation, and guest satisfaction. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and Chef, this role ensures smooth service during peak periods and contributes to menu planning and staff development.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in supervising shift operations and manage the restaurant in the absence of the manager.
- Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address questions or concerns.
- Ensure all supplies, equipment, and uniforms are available for staff.
- Communicate food quality and service issues to the Chef and Manager.
- Maintain compliance with restaurant policies, sanitation standards, and local alcohol service laws.
- Handle guest feedback, resolve complaints, and promote exceptional customer service.
- Support budgeting goals and track financial performance.
- Participate in training initiatives and coach staff on performance expectations.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hospitality/Restaurant Management with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to supervise staff and manage day‑to‑day restaurant operations.
- Strong communication skills and a focus on guest satisfaction.
