About the role
The Assistant Retail Buyer will support the buying team in managing category performance, forecasting purchases and ensuring optimal stock levels across all stores. You will work closely with senior buyers and the purchasing department to keep top‑selling items in stock and introduce new products that match market trends.
Key responsibilities
- Improve category performance by introducing items aligned with market trends.
- Replenish store stocks daily based on sales data.
- Order stock for regions, considering lead times and turnover rates.
- Maintain agreed‑upon margins by monitoring item pricing.
Required profile
- Experience as an assistant buyer in a retail chain.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
- Proven capability to develop a category and collaborate with the purchasing team.
- Familiarity with the toy, gifts, or cards retail sector is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Database management and record‑keeping abilities.
