Assistant Vice President – Data Science

About the role

The Assistant Vice President – Data Science will design, build, and productionize advanced analytics and AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. Working closely with Data Product Owners, analysts, engineers, and quality specialists, you will translate complex business challenges into data‑driven models and experiments.

Key responsibilities

• Define data‑science projects by setting hypotheses, success metrics, and validation methods.
• Explore, clean, and transform structured and unstructured data using Python and SQL.
• Design, train, and evaluate machine‑learning models (regression, classification, clustering, NLP, forecasting).
• Collaborate with engineering teams to productionize models via reproducible pipelines and CI/CD workflows.
• Apply explainability, fairness, and interpretability techniques (SHAP, LIME, feature importance).
• Support AI governance and Model Risk Management processes.
• Conduct A/B tests and monitor model performance post‑deployment.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data science, applied machine learning, or advanced analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.

• Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn, XGBoost, LightGBM)
• SQL for data extraction and transformation
• Databricks or equivalent ML platform
• Deep‑learning frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow
