Assistant Vice President – Manager, DevOps & DBA Engineering

About the role

iCapital is seeking an Assistant Vice President to lead its DevOps and DBA Engineering function within the Annuities Platform team. The role combines strategic oversight of CI/CD pipelines and SQL Server operations with hands‑on technical expertise, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance and security for enterprise SaaS solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of DevOps Engineers and Database Administrators, handling hiring, performance management and career development.
• Define and execute the DevOps and DBA roadmap aligned with product and platform strategy.
• Own design, reliability and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for all SaaS products.
• Manage SQL Server environments across production and non‑production, covering performance tuning, indexing, capacity planning, patching, backup/recovery, high‑availability and disaster recovery.
• Participate in incident response, on‑call rotation and post‑incident reviews.
• Embed DevSecOps practices, secrets management, vulnerability scanning and SOC 2 compliance.
• Collaborate with senior cloud engineers to drive FinOps, monitor cloud spend and optimize Azure workloads.
• Maintain operational documentation, change‑management discipline and audit‑ready evidence.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams in DevOps and database administration.
• Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS platforms and cloud‑native architectures.
• Ability to partner with security, architecture, engineering and product stakeholders.
• Track record of delivering reliable, automated infrastructure and database solutions.
